|

Hi
I'm new to the group and PDA's. I just wanted to let you know that I bought a MDPPC250 Medion from Halfords yesterday. Having found the Medion being sold by Tchibo on the web for £269 I asked Halfords if they would price match. They are selling it for £399. Thinking that they would say No Way, they indeed, said yes.
However I should have gone to Tchibo, as the Halfords PDA does NOT come with a Docking Station and it only comes with 2 games and not 9.
So, just because I didn't want to drive into a car-parking nightmare (Croydon) UK I have lost out on:
1 Docking Station
2 DaVideo Pocket PC
3 Backgammon, Cruel, Merrills, Poker, Snake, Tetragon and Yachtzee
4 Stereo Headphones
5 Loudspeakers
It was a good job I knocked them down in price beause if I had paid the full £399 without the above, I would have been pretty mad.
All I need now is to find a way of getting the Speed Cams on to it.

Hi Jez
I even rang Medion and they said that different shops had different packages. Halfords does NOT have a doking station nor does it come with G data Davideo and NO KSE Games Collection.
It does come with an in-car cradle.

Anyone any idea where I can purchace a docking station for home use, as i bought my pda from Halfords, where it is treated as an accessory. Also where i can get a display protection layer as described in the manual.

Hi baz
When I rang Medion they said just keep an eye on there web page Medionshop.com
As soon as they have some in stock they will put them on the web site.
Not much help I know, but it was all I could get out of them.

I think I'm not alone when I say Halfords is more a fluffy dice store now.
Personally, I only use them when everywhere else is shut
Just my opinion _________________ Newbie

Much like my local Aldi only sells fruit and veg, I think, and give a blank look when you ask them about computers. |

Decided to return my Medion to Halfords yesterday. Was happy with it but after using it for a fortnight, was in two minds whether I really needed it.
Anyway, returned it and spoke to the manager, explained it was'nt faulty, but made the excuse that the software was'nt top notch. He explained how ,apparently' these units are not covered in the refund policy (?) and what they have been told to do is, return them to Medion for a SW upgrade, as ,obviousely, they cannot re-sell them.
Then, with no input from myself, he explained how Aldi were selling them earlier in the year for £279.99, and he would price match it, even tho they now have none in stock.
Could'nt say fairer than that, so accepted it. Still an expensive toy, but just sold my SE p900 for £250, which I got free last year, so have got sat-nav for £30.
Not a bad deal methinks. |

Halfords suck. I think they go to the monkey enclosures of zoos in order to recruit their staff. I tired to buy a torch in there recently and even that was too much for the slack-jawed missing link serving. When I say serving I mean it in the very loosest sense. And to make up for their atrocious level of service they double the price of everything. I love them.

Rather than 'tired' I meant 'tried'. May I take this opportunity to also blame Halfords for my bad typing. |

Well this is hardly a reason not to buy from Halfords.
You should have done your research before buying |

I agree, Admiral goes too far in his "slack jawed missing link" insult. I suggest he pulls himself together and not make such sweeping statements when he knows full well that Argos are the market leaders in the "slack jawed missing link" recruiting initiative. |
