hello
i started with a i3 garmin years ago and then bought a 310 nuvi5 years ago (been very happy with both) and now find the maps are a little lacking.
im now thinking of buying updated 2010 maps for the nuvi 310 (can get a sd card for £38) or would you recommend starting again with a new unit (ideally one with free to update maps tom tom??)would appreciate peoples opinions
thankyou martin |

If you really CAN get a genuine workable sd map for £38 and are very happy with your nuvi, then ... what was the question again?
Or have you seen new facilities that you would like to try in a new device?
BUT, note that maps are often locked to the original device and not transferable, and if you've seen this on ebay or somewhere similar, then be wary. Not all sellers are too particular about such trivialities _________________ David

TomTom don't offer free map updates....
They have a one-off "Latest Map Guarantee" which you can use soon after you buy a new unit, to ensure the maps are the newest available, but after that you either have to buy them or subscribe to their update service (4 new maps in a year, usually slightly cheaper then buying one outright!) |

But they do offer FREE MAPSHARE corrections service.
Some people believe that (they are not alone). I don't (I am not alone either). Actually, I do believe they offer it, I just don't believe it's even slightly useful (some people, including me, believe it actually downgrades the device). _________________ Dennis
