Route 66 N7 updating MAP data

Hi all, have had a good look here and on the Net but still not sure if Route 66 N7 which was on a Navtek 884 GPS from Ebay can be updated(maps that is), can't find a version number but I have had it about 2 years, thanks, Jim.

Route 66 version 8 is available which will contain newer maps than you currently have installed BUT:

1/ There is no way of knowing whether it will work on your device as its a rather unknown hardware platform.

2/ The Route 66 version 8 software is crap, most of the decent features we enjoyed with version 7 have gone, no third party POI support is my major annoyance but there are quite a few others.

I am not too sure what/ if any navigation software will install and run on your device and this is one of the prices of purchasing a no-brand device from e-bay as they never get support for updates like the device supplied from the big names such as Garmin, TomTom, Navigon etc - Mike
