Posted: Sat Dec 12, 2009 3:27 pm Post subject: Where can I get Right Angled 3.5mm Jack Lead for 940 |
|
|
I bought a GO 940 and the Brodit Active Mount. Now I need the 3.5mm patch lead to plug into my aux-in on the car stereo (Saab 9-5). The aux out on the mount is pretty close the the holding mount and the aux-in is on the faceplate of the stereo so I am looking for a 3.5mm Right Angled cable with the Right Angle at both ends.
I dont want to have the adapter plugs so I am looking for an originial.
Any of you guys ever seen such a lead and any ideas where?

you may need to make your own using something like this: ebay link
most short (patch) leads are straight connections rather than the right angle. the only ones i've seen at right angles have been the connector itself and you would need to solder the cable yourself...

Go to Maplins and get two of These then either solder them up yourself to the required cable length or find a mate who knows how to solder without buring his fingers!
The TomTom iPOD accessory cable is supplied with one end fitted with a 90 deg 3,5MM plug which is what I use connected to my Brodit x40 mount, the other end however is straight but this is of no problem to me as it connects to the rear of the head unit - Mike |

Cables with a 90deg 3.5mm plug at one end and a straight one at the other are fairly easy to find (I can do you some links if required), if that will do.
But ready-made cables with a 90deg plug at BOTH ends are as rare as hens' teeth! I've got one, so they are available, but I've wasted a lot of time searching for them on-line more than once! |

You could buy 2 of these and join them or just one and then buy a right angle plug to solder on.
HERE
If you look down the page they also do a 2M long version as well. |

Found one!
As I said above, cablles with a right angle plug at one end and a straight plug at the other are fairly easy to find (Maplin, CPC etc.), but I've now found one from RS components (http://uk.rs-online.com) which is 2metres long and has a right angle plug at each end.
Stock No. 628-7196. Price is £5.09+vat, but you need to be registered to buy from them. |

...Lovely, except that the one you've linked to is a right angle jack to two phono plugs, they're easy to find!
We were looking for a lead with a right angle jack at BOTH ends.
(also, that RS cable is made by Switchcraft, who are a well respected brand, so I suspect the build quality will be a cut above the norm. |

Thanks for correcting my link and pointing out that I should've read all of the question and not just the bit that said 'right angled plug', Sorry _________________ TT 530/5200 |
