I have a GO 500 with navcore 7.903 and UK & RoI map 840.2561
Since updating my map last week it has been giving some strange and almost absurd routes when I select fastest route. Is this due to the map, or has the navcore got corrupted or is it a combination of both ? |

Do you have an example so that others can try it for themselves? _________________ Richard

Blackfriars Station, London to Farringdon Street Station goes south over Blackfriars bridge, turns around using back streets then goes back over the bridge instead of going around the (partial) roundabout at the junction with New Bridge Street and Victoria Embankment.
Oval Station to Wellington Avenue, Sidcup goes via Blackheath and the Danson Interchange on the A2
(With the previous map it used to go via Lewisham and Eltham)
(edit I've rechecked the first example and it did that with the previous map also. It's an absurd route in both cases ! ) |

From BFR to ZFD on Western Europe 8.40.2561 takes the direct route, going around the junction north of Blackfriars Bridge.
This is with & without Mapshare.
I wonder if this is another UK&ROI bug? _________________ TomTom 700 GO user since Dec 2005.

It routed me around (which looks like) a roundabout (Victoria Embanment) north onto New Bridge Street for about half a mile then left onto Cowcross Street.
Didn't route me across any bridges.
Map and device details as sig. Mapshare in use. _________________ Graeme Bennett

I have the same issue, the same route I have used to work since I got the 940 has always taken me the same way. Now it takes me a different route, not by much but down two different roads.
I only have it on for hands free and traffic.

@young-goat....
I get a sensible route too
Same as Graeme2812 above I think....
It routed me around a roundabout (Victoria Embanment) north onto New Bridge Street (turning into the Farringdon Road then right (not left) onto Cowcross Street.
Exactly the same on a 520 with UK map and a 720 with W+CE maps (both v840).
@n0v - I think yours is different. If there are only small changes in the map details, such as the "time to travel" for a certain stretch of road, then there will be slight route differences between versions.
young-goats problem seems much more extreme. |
