Lost voice on 3.03

Hi,

I have an old Jornada 525 and did have version 3.03 running fine.
Now the voice prompts have stopped. They are definitely enabled and installed.

When I go to file explorer and click on any wav file, I just get a small horizontal rectangular box with a square (stop) a green triangle (play) and an 'X', but the wav will not play.

I think I may have deleted a program which is critical to playing the wavs, but don't know what to look for.

My son has the same PDA, so maybe I could copy any missing files over?

Hmmm - Just tried the wav thing on my son's identical PDA and it does the same thing!
Maybe it's not that then, but what???

When I press test in properties, I still hear nothing, despite the volume being set to full.
Anyone else having sound trouble?

This happened to me yesterday with TT3 on an iPaq 3870 running PPC2002.

I had the same symptoms as you decribed.

A soft reset sorted it out.

:D I have finally solved the problem by going to Start\settings\sounds & reminders\ Enable sounds for programs.
I'm on PocketPC 3.0, but you may find that other operating systems have a slightly different menu structure, but just look for sounds & settings.
I don't know how it became unticked, but that was what was stopping the voice coming out.

I don't know HOW much time I wasted by re-installing the prog and the voices several times !!!!
