Understood Andy...but do we know if TomTom do intend to release version 9 for the x40 at all?

Does anyone have a clue as to whether Navcore 9 would work on an x20?
Rgds, Ulf

There are ways of getting it to work fine, you just need to know where to find the answers .............

Beware of the bootloader though.

Probably in the new year.

You and I may know that...

I was trying to state the situation as many people do NOT want to meddle with un-approved versions, and the situation was getting unclear.

True, hence why I have posted in another thread about the dangers of using x50 Navcores on other devices.

If you aren't prepared to risk turning your device in to a brick then don't meddle is my advice - should have made that clear I suppose.

I hope the XL LIVE update is released before then - it is advertised heavily on the TT site as the flagship ONE model, yet the ONE IQ Routes devices have had Navcore 9 released for a week now.

Seems odd that the XL LIVE Navcore 9 hasn't been released yet.

Or am I just biased / impatient Laughing Out Loud

So I take it you don't get the lovely new status bar as per x50 range then?

How disappointing - why bother calling it Navcore 9 if it still looks like Navcore 8???????

Greedy - I haven't even been offered 8.419 yet (by TomTom, that is). Maybe I'm lucky and Navcore 9 will come to me direct AND complete with TTS?

Dennis

If you are still running the version of 8.417 I think you are Laughing then HOME won't offer you the upgrade.

I had to remove the LoquendoTTS folder and revert a couple of files (I think you know which ones) back to the original versions and then magically HOME offered me 8.419

I haven 't heard that 8.419 offers me any more than I've already got on my vintage 8.417 with you-know-what! So I'll sit back and wait for Navcore 9 with TTS. Very Happy

TomTom have released in some countries 9.022 software for the xl2009-plus and the xl2009-plus-tts and for the same One models. As I am not familiar with these models I have no ideas on compatibility.

Depends I suppose what the "plus" means..

In the UK, the v9 software has been released for the 'ONE IQ Routes' and 'XL IQ Routes', but not the LIVE models.

Coz they're still engineering TTS and v9 postcodes into the Live models. Twisted Evil

AFAIK the plus is not the same as the LIVE.

I have tried these and wouldn't recommend them to any XL LIVE owner.

To be honest, Nav 9 is a waste of time until the HD Traffic problems are sorted out anyway - too much toggling of flight mode to force a connection .....
