Based on the format of their email addresses I chanced my arm and sent an email to
dunstonec@cpw.co.uk
Outlook informs me that the email has been delivered, so I assume that this is a valid email address for Charles Dunstone. Anyone else want to send him a letter of disgust? _________________ Tim |

It might also be worth quoting the companys 5 Rules of dealing with customers, as lifted direct from the website!!
Five Fundamental Rules
At The Carphone Warehouse everything we do is based on our 'five fundamental rules'. The rules speak for themselves and need little embellishment. However, it is worth stressing that the rules are applied not just in our stores, but in our call centres and support functions too, to ensure that we provide the best possible customer experience.
1 If we don't look after the customer, someone else will.
2 Nothing is gained by winning an argument but losing a customer.
3 Always deliver what we promise.
4 If in doubt, under promise and over deliver.
5 Always treat customers as we ourselves would like to be treated.
I figure they have broken at least 3 of these this time
Regards
Victoria

Thanks for that Vicky. I've copied my email to the link you provided, citing the five fundamental rules. Now we wait...... _________________ Tim |

I know I’m not going to be very popular for saying this but, reading some of the bad vibe comments about CPW is a bit of sour grapes, I sympathise to those who missed the boat on this, but the offer had been on there site for a few days for everyone to see and it's only that it was published here that there was such a mad rush for what has turned out to be a bloody good offer. I personally couldn't believe the price on the web site and had to call their free phone number to clarify the price, I was told by their sales guy that they were selling very quickly, so I purchased over the phone, which anyone could have done!!
If any one thinks that CPW had an endless supply of this kit they must be very disillusioned and harping on about it isn’t going to change the situation…. agreed?
A final thought though if CPW are getting rid of there out dated stock what about the other Navman suppliers, the likes of Staples (who always have out of date products) (allegedly), Dixon’s, PC world, dabs, Halfords etc they all have websites they all have clearance offers it just means you will need to trawl through there web pages like I did looking for that great offer. |

Fletch,
My only bone of contention is that they have passed over internet orders for telephone orders which were placed after said internet orders. _________________ Tim |

I Can't complain I got mine,
But I think what is upsetting people is that they placed orders when the item was in stock, and were later told that it was no longer available, that is wrong.
CPW need to look inot how stock is allocated to orders and using a system like this which is not real time for limited web orders is not really suitable
Just my opinion

Tim, it may have a little to do with the "fact" that the guy who I dealt with on the phone from the CPW was on commission and I only know this because after my transaction he tried to sell me a phone and I asked him, he then gave me his direct number for any future purchases I would be surprised if a web generated order gave any one commission that’s why telephone orders take precedent. |

Point taken, and I can see how off you are but what can you do? Charles Dunston is a businessman not a charity if he was to back down to everyone who had a grievance with the CPW he wouldn't have a business.
Live with it and move on. keep you chin up there will be other offers there always is.

I ordered mine online last night at 7:30 and shortly after told a friend about the offer. He ordered his about an hour later online and today received confirmation that he would get the item on Tuesday. I also received an email which informed me that it is out of stock and my order has been cancelled!!!
How on earth can this be classed as "first come first served" |

Received an automated response this morning form one of the several complaints I sent to CPW over the weekend. I've no idea which one this is in relation to.
I guess they will have a lot of them to reply to. :x
Ahh well... we'll wait and see. _________________ Ian.

Just had the units I ordered turn up.
3 were brand new and sealed. 1 was opened and used,
I phoned them to complain about this, and was told no problem we will swap it out for a new sealed one, we still have loads in stock
So for you that were told your order was cancelled due to being sold out, this seems to be total bull!!
Time to chase them again me thinks
