I've searched the forum for a current post on this topic so apols for starting another thread but all others are out of date as far as I can see. Hence new thread.

My RDS-TMC reciever just went west so I dug out my old Nokia 6230i from the glovebox, topped up with £10.00 of credit and expected a simple re-connect after 6 months of RDS-TMCing. But oh no, not that simple.

I've done the usual delete all pairings, downloaded the settings page from Tom Tom, remaned the APN, deleted the Username and password and edited the subsequent settings as per the descriptions from Tom Tom. Despite multiple attempts, multiple setting selections and even a rollback to a backup which I know worked I can't for the life of me get any joy out of the thing. I tried similar with my contract BlackBerry Bold and that doesn't want to know either.

I checked online and over the phone with TT that I still have an active subscription for GPRS traffic and it has 4 months left to run.

So what has changed within the last 6 months?

Apols for lack of version numbers etc but the device is with my wife at the moment. However, I know I am running an up to date Navcore and the Nokia handset has lived un-fiddled with in the car since the day I last used it.

Do you have internet access on the phone? According to Google the settings should be:

APN: orangewap
Password: leave blank
IP Address: leave blank
DNS Address: leave blank

Thanks Darren but I got similar from Google and therein lies the problem. Several sites, including TT support, saying orangeinternet, some saying orangewap and some sayng it doesn't matter. Tried them all (just tried again but no way) and still no joy.

If I could find the recipt for the pence I paid for the RDS-TMC reciever I'd be fine!

Main phone for Traffic is PAYG but tried it with BlackBerry Contract on Orange when not connected to any other devices such as my Parrot and that doesn't work either.

Ensure you have your adult filter on Orange switched off you should be able to do this online if you have an online account page set up or via customer services, I know this sounds silly but it worked for me.

Further to Darrens post above

My previous phone was a Samsung Z400 that required to be manually paired to my old Tomtom One and I am sure you could not leave the password blank and the IP and DNS addresses had to be obtained automatically.

My old Tomtom One is sitting on the shelf at the moment with obviously a flat battery, I will give it a charge tomorrow and report back on the settings I had if you have not had a resolution by then.

You guys are demonstrating the problem. There is no definitive source for correct settings from Orange or Tom Tom side. The Orange link to settings goes to a dead link on Orange France's site. Unless the problem lies elsewhere, the Tom Tom page is wrong but the Nokia phone is listed as compatible and has worked before.

It needs tidying up because all the sources I found have differing results.

I decided to just buy a new RDS-TMC receiver since the time I spent sitting in traffic then attemting to navigate around it using the roadblock function cost me more than the device.

Of course there's no guarantee that the incident would have shown up but as it lasted about 4 hours I would hope so!

To be fair this isn't a TT issue. Need to get the phone working and accessing web independently first.

Just a thought.
Have you checked that Orange havn't suspended your account, their accounts/ customer services sytem sucks at the moment (I have just kicked them into touch) they sometimes have a clearout of old accounts and don't bother checking too much.
