I am looking to replace my Garmin 250W and Talex Lite with a single unit which will combine the virtues of both.

Essential features:
- will run the PGPSW speed camera database
- has directional warnings for cameras
- has voice warnings on approach and overspeed for cameras
- has text to speech for navigation
- has lane assist
- is wide-screen
- has UK mapping.

I suspect the directional requirement will rule out Garmin. Budget: ideally under £150 but could stretch.

Any suggestions on which models might be suitable?

Thank you.

the ONLY devices that handle directional warnings from 3rd parties are igo-based ones such as some binatones, some blaupunkt etc.

tomtom you can add custom voice warnings for speed cameras BUT they don;t have an overspeed alert for cameras/pois like garmin does.

to be honest i'm a bit out of touch with PND's as i've been using winmob, android and iphone solutions most of the time recently so i'll let someone else answer!!

My personal preference is TomTom as it has IMO the best custom POI support.

The only thing it lacks is directional POI alerting but I can live with that, I'd rather be forewarned.

Thanks for the comments. Its looks like I'll have to stick with the Garmin/Talex for the time being.

I had tried the Inforad K1 with the PGPSW database but didn't get on with it. I couldn't stand it screeching continuously until I'd dropped below the trigger speed and found the release sound came too late.
