|
|
I have an iPAQ 214 running TomTom Navigator 6. Both of which works fine without any problems.
I upgraded from Nav 5 and the biggest difference in the maps are the size of them and the fonts used in the maps. They are much smaller and not that easy to see.
Does anybody know of a way to increase both the map size and the font size in TT6? I have actually emailed TomTom and their reply was. The iPaq 214 is not on the list of compatable PDA's. They didnt actually say it couldnt be done.

Font sizes are another of my bug bears for the Navigator and as far as I am aware cannot be changed.
One thing you can do, is if you select fewer options on the status bar, that will make the font size bigger.
I usually have 2 options showing on the right info box i.e speed and time, and next street name selected for navigator.
On the Go i can select 5 options for my info and the font size is nice and big. _________________ TomTom 700 GO user since Dec 2005.

Hi,
I think the problem is the VGA (640x480) screen on the 214 (and some other devices like my Loox N560). I guess the TT software (and to some extent Memory Map) is not really designed to use such a resolution, the fixed icons are too small. The "GPS Status" (satellite view) screen seems particularly unsatisfactory.

What would be really interesting is if someone with a device that is on the approved list contacted TomTom with exactly the same question regarding map and font size.
At least that way there would be a definitive answer as to whether it is possible
