My Tomtom is setup with 2 warnings at different distances. Every time I download the speed camera database I make a duplicate set of files with _2 at the end. I've done this for years because I prefer 2 warning for each camera.

I was just wondering if anyone else does this or is it just me?

Thanks,
Noony

Thank you for the suggestion.
I always remove the overspeed warnings as they drive me nuts!
I rely on the proximity warning [one audible and one visual and all the zoned icons] so your suggestions has great benefits for me!

I just updated the local database and will try it!

Thanks

I also prefer to have 2 warnings for my safety cameras, there are 2 other ways this can be done you might like to think about.

There is the All & Speed zone POI option ie... have the All POI set to say 800 yards, and then have the 30 limit POI set to 300 yards, this gives you the pre warning and second warning.

The other method ive used almost since day 1 is a duplicated sound warning effect in one sound file . i.e you get a audio warning sound you know you will hate to listen too ( trumpets for me ), then record it, give a gap, and record it again in one sound file. If your really clever up the decibels to make it really loud!
You then only need to copy and rename this file to match the ov2 names but ending in .ogg ( or wav for v7+ ) for each one like you would normally.

Then thats it!, no more further effort ever required again for either option.
So far, this has always kept me safe out there....

Hope that helps?

Thanks for the suggestions. I prefer to have exact speed zoned/type warnings which is why I stuck with using the same file. I run a simple program that renames a copy of all of the files. I also tried the long timed warnings but found that they can interfere/clash with the navigation instructions. But thanks again for taking the time to suggest.
