|
I have had my Nuvi 660 for a couple of years and have always been pleased with it except for the slow screen updating. I sometimes miss turns because the update is too slow. I am thinking of upgrading to a newer unit but am sure not whether this is symptomic of most Garmin units. Has anyone else had this problem? _________________ Garmin NUVI 660 with 2010 maps, Navman 550, Garmin Etrex Vista, Garmin 775 |

yup, this is a common problem.
I bought a 1490T in July, its redrawing was atrocious. Recently sent it back, because of another problem (unreliable finger-scrolling) and the replacement is better, in both respects, but still far from perfect.
Garmin today told me that slow redrawing is to be expected, because of "the amount of data". |

Terrible excuse. A bit like a car manufacturer blaming the weight of the car for the car poor mileage or acceleration.... I always assumed Garmin tested their sat nav before releasing them to market.... |
