Thanks.
I have done that but the problem is when they appear in my extras folder.
When transeferd to the Nuvi they seem to get put into one POI file. |

You can load them in different POI.GPI files by loading one lot of POIs and then renaming the POI.GPI file and then loading the second lot.
However they will still appear under Extras, Custom POIs. That's how it works. |

So could I rename the pocket_pc speed camera files to zzpocket_pc on my PC then load them into the Nuvi.
If so would they appear at the bottom of the list.
Then do I rename the associated bitmaps |

Is it really that big a deal to have to do this every week? |

Not quite so good
I got the warnings but not the icons.
I removed the zz and all was OK.
Puzzled!
It is the same on my 255 & 770 |

Did you rename the icons and make sure they had EXACTLY the same name as the data files? |

Yes they are all in one POI file on the Nuvi.
But when I run down the Extras page on my own Nuvi, I get Accommodation, ATM...New Folder, Pharmacy...etc. And the New Folder contains all the camera data, rather than have it clutter up the main Extras list.

Sounds a good idea, then if the folder name began with zz it would always be at the bottom.
I must seem fixated with the zz |

But IME this trick doesn't seem to work if the folder is called anything other than New Folder.

Nice piece of software but I have a small problem and have tried to find the solution but reading 53 pages is making my eyes hurt so.......
I have installed Camera Manager v2.7 and all is well except on the settings tab I have the "Sort by camera and speed limit" greyed out and I can't change the "add overspeed margin of" boxes as they are also greyed out. Also, in the options tab I can't change the "Check for updates" time or the "Remind me when database..........." time.
I'm running XP Pro all up to date.
Any help appreciated. |

That's because they are only available to those that have made a financial contribution towards the program. See this page |

Whoops! Missed that bit.
I like the idea of the program and took my sat nav to work this morning. I'm not sure if I've done everything correctly but I got 3 warnings in a 30mph speed limit and I was doing 29mph max. I went through another speed camera area and got 2 warnings when I was doing 26mph then I increased my speed to 38mph and didn't get another warning.
I'll keep testing before I buy but so far I haven't noticed any difference on my Garmin 550. (I did delete my original poi file and create a new one). |

It's difficult to comment on these without knowing the timings you were using and if these where the lower toned Proximity Alerts which you will always get regardless of your speed or the higher pitched Overspeed Alerts which you only get when closer to the camera and are still over the speed limit.

It depends on how close you are to the camera and if you did this before you got to the camera or after. Sometimes you might accelerate but there might not be enough time to issue another alert. |

It may have been something to do with there being a second camera on a different road to my left and I turned right (only passing one camera).
All I can say is I have just been on a different route and it worked fine. It may also be something to do with the heat shield screen in the car I was driving today as I believe the heat shield screen makes the accuracy of the sat nav less accurate.
I will be donating as even having a reminder that there is a new database available is a big plus point. |
