Im pretty sure that someone else must have dropped the idea already, but I couldn't find anything in the forum.
So, in the rare case that someone hasn't suggested it already, how about a PGPSW Application for the iphone and other
mobile phones using symbian or similar software?
Im not sure how the license procedure with Apple works in order to create and license an App for the iphone, but I believe there is no reason for not being financially viable.
The App could use the log in information to check if the user already has the latest speed camera database and if not it can promt the user to download it.
This can well work on nokias using symbian for example!
It looks that the future for even the dedicated GPS devices is to get internet connectivity and use more live services, so Im just wondering if we will ever see a PGPSW live service as well.
What do you think about that? |

All being well it'll be in the Appstore soon after that. |
It apparently takes Apple a while! _________________ Jock

So an App is already on the making! That's great news!!!!
Any comments from the authors of the site for an app for non iphone users?
As an owner of a Nokia 5800 I would be very happy to see a PGPSW app that can run on other systems.
Im not sure however if the app on a nokia has to be purchased exclusively by the Ovi store or if it can be downloaded directly from this website.
I understand that the Ovi maps 3.0 are not capable of loading custom POIs yet, but how about other applications that can run on symbian, such as the Garmin XT?
The same question goes for the iphone as well, does an app has to be provided exlusively by the Apple store?
Also any ideas when is likely to see the app up and running?
Thanks! |

Unfortunately mcbiskits's SpeedCam doesn't seem to have been updated for the 5800, but you could post on the blog and see if any development is being done. _________________ Jock
