Firstly don't!!! unless you have to.
It took an age to stop the monthly payments later than tomtom said as they took an extra months payment!!!
Now it has stopped and live services has run out I tried to renew for the year and get a message in home stating I cannot buy a years substription as I have bought something simular before.
Tomtom said that this is a problem at the moment and will take 2-3 weeks to sort out but I can get around it by creating yet another account, registring my 940 to that and taking a year out on on the new account.
Has anybody had to do this and can confirm it works? as I really need live working now.

You will find that you cannot renew until the old subscription has totally expired. TT require rather a large notice on the monthly subscription and if you stop your payments that is considered a breach of contract and they then cancel your service immediately even if you have months outstanding.
I got that message from Home and it would not let me renew until the service had actually stopped working. _________________ Drivelux |

cancelled in june.
Had an agreed date to cease of 6th August but Tomtom took an additional payment after it was cancelled and extended the finish date to 6th september on which date live services stopped.
last night I tried to make a payment for a year nearly 3 weeks after they stopped!!! |

I cancelled in June. A payment was then taken in June and July but nothing in AUgust. Live kept working through this period.
Then all of a sudden another payment was taken in September so I raised a query as to what was going on.
I tried to purchase a years subscription but got the same issues as above.
However I have now had confirmation on FOUR consecutive days that my service has been cancelled and sure enough when I just checked I couldn't receive any Live services at all, though I was invited to renew at £7.98 per month.
Anyway I have just paid a year's subscription through TomTom Home and within 2 minutes all is working again just fine....... |
