|
|
tom tom one v4 Western Europe with Tom Tom camera database. I tend to use my device with volume muted, I look at the unit to work out where I need to go. I find the voice irratating and misleading compared to the map. however I very much like to hear the audible tone when approaching a speed cam (relying on visual alert I can easily miss them). There is no option to turn off voice but keep alert sounds.
It would be nice if I could have different volume levels for both voice and alerts - not sure if possible though.
I thought perhaps I could delete all the voice data. I'm a techy but don't know much about Tom Toms.
I'm also considering subscribing to the pocketGPS cam database as my tom tom one is out of date and I've heard good things about the pocketGPS one. Will this have any effect on my plans.
any advice greatly received. |

Excellent that's just what I was looking for. I notice the voice does not show up in the english section which means I have to scroll through all the foreign stuff to find it. Doesn't look like I can edit the file..... is my only option to delete all the foreign voices? (which i don't need anyway). |

On some models/software versions there IS an option to mute the navigation voice and leave everything else alone.
It is in Change preferences / Voice Preferences and is called "Disable voice"
If you think it would be a good idea to have SEPERATE volume controls for the nav. voice and the POI Alerts (and music etc.) then do please contact TomTom and suggest it to them. I've been campaigning for this for years, so every extra moan about it helps! |
