Hello Daggers
yes, there is always a corresponding category to each camera.
Thanks

I'm wondering if you have configured cameras for a map that is not actually active? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Worth a soft reset and then retry the demo route? Do you have two files for each camera type in the Western Europe map folder? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hello Darren
how would I check this out?
If I go to switch map on my satnav, there is only one map available ... Western & Central Europe. Looking on Windows Explorer all the PocketGPS entries are in this map(OV2 and Bit Map).
Thanks

Hello Darren
Looking on Windows Explorer all the PocketGPS cameras have two entries each. (OV2 and Bit Map).
I'll try a reset.
Thanks

Hello Darren
reset did not solve problem. Demo route with known cameras still had no alerts.
Thanks

Lost as to what to suggest to be honest. It's all fairly simple and assuming the files are present then it should work _________________ Darren Griffin |

Can you try the following on the device:
Go to Advance Planning/ Prepare Route (AtoB)
Set a departure address as FY43NN (Kingsmede) house number 95
Set a destination as PR41AX (Unnamed road) no numbers are available.
When its planned the route press "Details" Show Route Demo, set the speed at 100% and sit back watch/ listen, you should get a Gatso 30 warning followed by a Mobile 30 within the first 3 minutes of setting the demo off - Mike |

Hello mikealder
thanks for the reply.
Tried your route with the postcodes. No camera alerts.
Maybe I pasted the files in to the wrong folder on the satnav, but I only have one map folder (Western Central Europe)
Thanks

This should be a very simple procedure so we need to go back to basics and find out where you are going wrong as you must be doing something incorrectly.
For the install, did you follow our installation guide here and our video installation guide here.
If you follow this step by step you cannot go wrong, we have many many thousands of members running this.
I've answered your support request, refunds are not available once you have downloaded the database but we will work through this with you and get you going. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hello Darren
thanks for prompt reply.
Yes I installed according to the instructions.
I'll outline everything I did .....
1. download zoned Euro zip file from PocketGPS
2. unzipped file and extracted files into satnav Western Central Europe map. I have only one map folder.
3. on satnav I went to manage POI ... warn when near POI ... pressed on each camera and assigned 300yds distance, assigned beep, I did not tick "Warn only if POI is on route"
4. on first journey past known cameras I only got the Tom Tom alerts (my Tom Tom alerts had a different beep). So I uninstalled the Tom Tom cameras with Home.
5. since then not a dickie bird.
6. I downloaded your camera zip file again yesterday just in case the first download was corrupt etc and did complete install. Didn't work.
7. I appreciate that this is a simple procedure ( I work with computers everyday) but I must be overlooking something.
Thanks

You are and you reply has provided the information we should have elicited earlier!
UK cameras are only in the UK camera file set, EUR does not include UK cams. It is separated in this way as EU cams are in KPH and UK is MPH.
if you download and install the UK cams your issue will be resolved.

Well spotted! Everything works fine now. I should have spotted this when I was choosing my zoned downloads.
I now have a lot files in my map folder. Should I tidy them into UK folder and Europe folder or should I leave well alone?
Also, someone mentioned on the forum that my Tom Tom Go 730 has a limit to the number of POI's. I want to download some of the free POI's on your website. How will I know my limit?
Your forum and problem solving backup is excellent.
Thanks
John |
