First, to get the TomTom to show you the coordinates:
Go to 'Browse map' on the TomTom (page 2 of the main menu)
Tap the "Options" button at the bottom.
You should have an option called "Coordinates" (may be on the "advanced" page depending on your model)
Tick that and check that "Favourites" is ticked as well.
Now you should be able to use the "Find" button to show you each Favourite in turn, and the coordinates should be shown in the bottom left of the screen in the format N51.12345, W0.12345
------------------------------------------------
No to enter them on the submission form:
Go to the camera submission page on the PGPSW website
You can now enter the coordinates for each camera into the "Find a location" box on the form, but see the note just below the box...
For best accuracy, instead of entering this:
N51.12345, W0.12345
.......you need to enter them in this format:
51.12345,-0.12345
i.e. take off any N,E,S,W and replace W or S with a minus sign. Also put a comma but no space between the two numbers.
Sounds a lot more complicated than it is!! |

Hi Riddler,
You can set your TT to display location coordinates - I use decimal, e.g. N 51.2345 E 1.2345.
When displaying the camera location (each favourite) in the map, when you click on it, make a note of the coordinate as displayed. Then go into the submit camera page and enter the coordinates in the Find a location: field and follow the onscreen directions. _________________ Steveee

Watch out for the possible inaccuracies I mention above if you enter them in that format though!
(Google keep changing things, sometimes having letters and/or spaces works, sometimes it doesn't). |
