|

Can someone please giveme step be step instructions on how to put voice alerts on my Garmin Nuvi 1390T I have tried to put the wave files in the same folder as the POI but still no voices. Can anyone help. I have read that an older version of PIO Loader 2'4 could convert to wav but I can not find this to download. |

Are you adding the voice files to the POIs before you upload them with POILoader or after?
You must make sure you download a set of files that matches your database download (Speed Zoned or Consolidated). Then mix these in with the database files in a folder on your PC. Make sure each CSV file has a matching mp3 or wav file and upload the lot using POILoader. |

Yes I am downloading the Speedzone cameras as well as the speedzone voice.I am then putting them in the same folder and then uplaoding them to my Garmin using POI Loader. On checking my POI folder on the Garmin I can see that it has loaded as one file. However although the spedcameras are shown whilst driving I do not get the sound. Could it be that I am putting a mp3 file in that my system does not recognise. I have a Garmin Nuvi 1309T. This has got me really stumpted as I used to have a TOM Tom 720 which was a lot eadier to add things. |

All the data is compacted into a single file called POI.GPI.
It appears the 1390 lacks the mp3 player necessary to make the voice alerts work. You need to convert them to WAV format and use an older version of POILoader to install these voices. At the minute i can't find a link to download of the older version for you but will post one when i find it.. |

Cheers,
I have searched high and low for the older version of the POI Loader but with no success. Hope you have a little more success. |

See Quote: | Nuvi 200 wav files with latest poi loader | where Hairybathplug says Quote: | FIXED! Beta 2.4.0.0 and all is well | and dales says Quote: | Odd. POI Loader 2.5.3 works fine with the .wav files for my nuvi 255WT, every week! |
Might be worth PMing them? _________________ David

Just a thought. Have you checked that your file names match EXACTLY.
For every camera and for every speed, you need three files.eg
PocketGPS_UK_Gatso_Thirty.bmp
PocketGPS_UK_Gatso_Thirty.gpx
PocketGPS_UK_Gatso_Thirty.wav
PocketGPS_UK_Specs_Unknown.bmp
PocketGPS_UK_Specs_Unknown.gpx
PocketGPS_UK_Specs_Unknown.wav
The wav file name must agree precisely with the other two, or it won't be recognised.

Crikey why didn't you say you had an error message!
You need to download sox.exe from here.
And bear in mind Gardela's comment here.
Unzip it then shove it in the C/Garmin folder (or wherever you've filed the POI loader.

All sorted now thanks to Dales link and the advice of other forum users. I have now added the SOX exe from the link that Dales provided and everything now works great.
Once again thanks |
