|
|
Hello,
I have just updated the firmware on my Garmin Zumo 660 to version 3.30 and also uploaded the latest speed camera database to my zumo using the latest version of POILoader, and when I view the map I can not see any speed camera icons. I did not have this issue previously.
If I go to Extras - Custom POIs I can see all of the speed cameras, but if I select one and view it on the map there is no icon.
Also if I put the unit into simulation mode and plan a route to the speed camera I get the warning but I do not see the icon.
I have removed and re-installed the camera database multiple times and updated the firmware a couple of times as well but I still can not see the icons :-(
Does anyone have any ideas? or has anyone seen the same problem?
Thanks for your time. |

How many POI categories have you got loaded? After a certain limit, the icons change to grey or black dots. _________________ Gerry

I have 31 categories for the speed cameras in the Custom POI section, and I have AA days out loaded as well in a separate extras section. |

Have you tried redownloading and reloading the database? |

just for completeness. I downloaded uk speed database. renamed it ukpoi. idownloaded euro speed database. renamed it europoi. I downloaded lots of useful poi for food.shopping.transport etc etc. renamed them all under their type withpoi at the end. they all show on the garmin custom pois. it also finds it on the map when chosen. however as stated before no speed icons show and also no other custom poi show on the map. I had before done them individually but again no icons. please be aware I have also tried gerry c speed icons but agin no icons. I used the speed zone database and icons from gerry c. thanks again. wonder if any others r havkng problems. |

hunterr1 - Can you try JUST the UK database. As mentioned above the problem usually occurs if you load too many POI categories.... |

I think I did this before when testing different things. however I cannot remember if it worked. don't think it did. I will take everything off the unit and try the uk database only. do u know the poi limits for the 660? speed and other types? |

Hi all.
Here is a solution from the Zumo forum. (you ought to join us for all the Zumo 660 info)
Change the Icons to 16bit, using MS Paint, and then they display OK again.
I've just done this on my 660 and the speed PGPSW db is working again.
Hopefully Garmin will release an update soon to fix the problem, but for now get out MS Paint and sort it your self.
Just load each Icon, then click 'Save As'. It will offer to save as a 256 colour Icon, choose 16 colour instead and say yes to the 'Overwrite' request. |
