I wonder if this has been prompted by the new maps débâcle, and incorporates some kind of fix? |

It did say it was a "critical" update!
I've already managed to crash it just by seeing if "Operate my device" would work on my XL LIVE.
It downloaded the new dll, seemed to work,, but when I clicked on "Done" it hung with a constant 'hourglassing'.
Thanks for moving it Paul.. delete my post if you like now! |

From the thread I opened - apologies, I hadn't seen this one.
Just been offered this version when I connected my 520 to HOME - 2.7.1.1812
All well at the moment on XP Sp3. No crashes and 'Operate my Go'is working just fine and I have been able to adda a favourite using the 'Send to GPS' from Google Maps.
Any ideas what the Critical element is? _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

FWIW, the OS X version also seems snappier, and the virtual/emulated device seems to work better. (Previously it got all messed up as soon as Home lost focus. That seems to be fixed.)
Also, the switch from a green colour scheme to a blue one makes it fit in a little better with other OS X apps. :-}
Apart from that, not much comment (yet). |

I had exactly the same as you. I restarted the computer and all was well. _________________ Tomtom Go520, App 8.010, Map UK&ROI 810.1870 |

"Operate my device" doesn't work for me either. TomTom tell me I have to wait for the update to the device emulator that runs inside Home. How is that? Is it standard practice at TomTom to issue an update that's broken, knowing that it requires another update that's not going to be available for a number of weeks? Sounds like they don't test their product, and definately have no concept of quality control or customer satisfaction.
Is there a fix that you guys know about? _________________ Geraint

Yes, when it comes to the "operate my Go" emulator files, that's normal practice for TomTom. |
