|
|
Hi there, just been into my local Argos Clearance and noticed they are selling the TomTom 720 for £129.99. This sounds like a bargain!.
Only thing is i already have the TomTom 530 which i'm happy with. I have the TomTom Traffic module with my 530 which works well.
So the question is what's the difference between the 530 and 720 ??. I could easily sell my TomTom 530 if i thought the TomTom 720 was going to be a worthwhile upgrade.
Can the TomTom 720 still use the same TMC receiver i use for my TomTom 530 ?
Best Regards,
Andy |

If the 720 comes with the latest map guarantee once its updated to the latest Navcore software and map it will be the same as the 530 in terms of capability and fuctionality but it will have full Western Europe mapping coverage.
As for the RDS-TMC device that will work without an issue with the x20/ x30 devices (either type of receiver) - Mike |

Thanks for the speedy reply Mike, so it sounds like i wouldn't really be gaining anything by upgrading to the 720 then, ah well i suppose it's £130 saved!. Still a good price though had i not already had the 530!
Best Regards,

The main difference is that the 720 has UK & Europe mapping whereas the 530 only has UK!

The 20, 30, 40 etc is the order in which the devices were upgraded, but Tomtom, for some reason, allowed the 20 series to be upgraded to the 30 series. |
