|
|
Just so I know I am not completely going around the bend
When using voice recognition with the commands:
- Navigate to a favourite
and then selecting the number next to the favourite (in this case 6), although it reads the correct name from the list for confirmation, it then brings up the route for number 5.
When turning the sound off with voice recognition all is well, but asking it to turn the sound on again, although it says 'sound is on', the muted icon is still present and you have to turn it on manually in the menu.
Sounds like a software bug, but could someone just check theirs before I report it to Tom Tom direct...

This is a known bug, but I would report it anyway as the more people that complain might increase the chance of them fixing the issue - Mike |

Thanks Mike
Also, slightly unrelated...
I have it connected via Bluetooth and sometimes the computer voice has problems at a beginning of a sentence cutting out for a word or two and then carries on without issue, is this a known bug as well per chance do you know? _________________ http://www.jameswoodcock.co.uk |

The BT Audio link works fine for me via the iO-Play kit or directly linked to my car stereo, what device are you using to connect the Tomom to via Bluetooth - Mke |

IO play strangely enough. This is for the audio instructions of the Sat Nav. For instance when a problem occurs.
........ yards turn left.
...... represents stutter. _________________ http://www.jameswoodcock.co.uk |

Nope I don't get that with the latest Navcore installed to the device, although I do have it set to play mp3 audio and not to pause the music while issuing navigation instructions. The voice I am using is Kate the default female TTS voice - Mike |

Hmmm I have my music set to pause... I wonder if that is part of the problem... Thanks I will give that a shot...
Thank you very much for your time mike.
All the best

When the sound is off (or not turned back on) just touching the bottom left of the screen where the direction indications are turns it back on, you don't have to go through the menus.
I have both these bugs as well. _________________ Drivelux |

Ahh good tip thanks...
To be honest I hardly ever turn the sound off. Kate is quite the conversationalist and will keep you company for many a long journey he he.
You can give her all your ideas, and if she doesn't like it, her financial advice will always be 'Do a U-turn' he he... _________________ http://www.jameswoodcock.co.uk |

Hi guys,
Just to add to this thread, I also have a 740 Live running the latest Navcore and I use the iOPlay kit. I have had the "cutting out" problems for a while now, also with the previous Navcore version.
I'm glad to hear that it's a known bug. Although it does get annoying because it's quite random. Some sets of instructions are fine, others have the "cutting out" problem. Perhaps the unit is doing more in the background memory when these cut outs occur? I'm sure this must be a memory issue.
Did changing the setting for pausing music help glidem? I don't play music (just use the car radio) but I could change a setting if that helps...
Do TT know about this?
Thanks,

It only appears while you are selecting Bluetooth as the output for the music in change preferences/speaker preferences.
Try changing it to something else and then back to Bluetooth and it should ask you whether you want it to pause or not. |

Thanks again...
Tried it with recorded voice rather than computer and there were no problems in the audio, must just not be getting the resources it needs to playback correctly sometimes. _________________ http://www.jameswoodcock.co.uk |
