Maybe the problems with the new version is the reason why I can't update the new maps and cameras I've bought!!
Think I'll also try the previous version and see if its any better. _________________ TTGO720 |

I never installed the beta and just upgraded to the final version. Seems OK to me so far.

2.7.0.1785 is not a Beta release.
Still no problems with the Beta or the 2.7.0.1785 build here. |

I had the Beta and I've at last installed the later 2.7.0.1785. To be frank, I had no flaming option but to do so, because every time I tried not to do so (clicked Cancel), it simply shut down, so I was no longer able to use the Beta version.
I had no trouble with the Beta and I've had no trouble with this one. Read that as you will - I used the Beta version at least twice!!! and I've used this one once, then started it a second time after reading someone saying it took ten minutes to load - for me it loaded faster than I can ever recall Home loading before, whatever version. Again, make of this what you will, I use Home so infrequently I wouldn't take my word for it - for map updates and application updates only (and after reading here they are available and work), so that's how many times I've loaded Home this year. PLUS once last week to join Mapshare and download all the "corrections" at lowest trust level to see how they would jigger my device, AND again now (after struggling to get round the update problem) to unjoin from Mapshare and disable all the "corrections" (they didn't work out). _________________ Dennis

What are the differences other than the new look.
I have noticed the bug where when you disconnect then start up the device it says the voice selected is unavailable has gone. Also when you say you don't want to connect to computer the TT starts immediately.
But knowing TT there must be loads of new bugs. |

Decided to take a chance (after downloading the 2.6 installation files in case).
Can't remember the exact names as I don't have it in front of me, but the load time was fine, "update my go" was fine, but the "items on my go" and "items on my PC" just hang.
I am running Vista |

I don't have that issue on the current full version or the previous beta.
Mind you, I'm on App 8.302 right now.. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

I've just noticed that TT Home makes use of ActiveSync. I've just uninstalled MS ActiveSync (not needed since I gave my XDA to my son) and TT Home now seems fine.
Hope that helps you guys still having speed issues. Even if you need ActiveSync, at least it's someting you could report to TT themselves (I'm feeding this back even though I'm now solved anyway). |

My wife upgraded TT Home yesterday. Plugged in her 930 and TT Home started and then bombed out (Vista desktop). After much playing around, if she removes the SD card from the 930, it works, if she leaves it in, it comes up with an error. The error occurs at the point when she is about to choose "Internal" or "SD Card".
Just another issue to be noted. V2.6 worked fine.
