|
|
I have had a nuvi 250 now for 3 years and its been quite good for my 3 holidays in france and i even bought a Garmin sd card for a map of the USA which worked a treat and i wouldnt have managed without it, but the last 2 weeks in france it's behavior was odd. It would take me from a-b on one route but back another, then the next day take me a-b on the route it brought me back on the day earlier which was differnet from the route the day earlier and it was the same route.
It also after calculating route would not show me the route and tell me directions unless i cancelled it and input the route again, my question is is it going faulty or is this normal behavior. It also one day sent me across country t my destination then the next day on motorways !!!!
If i changed my Nuvi what should i get I want one for Europe which can be upgraded to USA and has an option to say use major roads only if possible has anyboby any ideas to
1 why my Nuvi is going weird and what to look at buying.
Cheers

I don't know the answer to the issue - but a Nuvi 265T may do what you want if you need to get it replaced. |

It might be worth trying a reset. This will reset all settings back to factory settings and may result in the loss of Custom POIs and Favourites. Best to assume it will.
Before proceeding make sure the unit has a well charged battery.
1) Turn the unit off & remove any SD cards
2) Hold a finger down on the bottom right of the screen.
3) Switch on and hold your finger down until give the prompt "Do you wish to erase all user data?" (or similar). Answer Yes. Unit will reset and reboot...
Note: It might take some time before the question appears... |

Best to make a CSV file in Excel or Notepad and save them as a POI set. However i believe EasyGPS can save the Favourites. |

On my 255WT the favourites seem to be in the GPX folder, at the foot of the Current.gpx file.
