Does anyone know how to convert TomTom POI's to the Sygic Mobile Maps?
Any help appreciated as Mobile Maps is on it's way to me (from France!)

Have a look near the top of my post in This Thread which contains a link to the POIConverter application that you need to translate the POI files, I appreciate thats for iFone but I use the same app for the PPC based software as well - Mike

Mike, Thanks - I'll get them prepared for when the software arrives.
Do you know if anyone has actually tested this on the N97?

Mike, The Sygic POIConverter program won't convert TT OV2 files into a usuable format without first using OV2UPI 2.3 to convert into an older UPI format. It is needed to convert the UPI format into the latest version though.

For speed cameras the downloads here for McGuider Sygic are the easiest as there is only a single conversion process required. For the free POI files though it is easier to download the TT files as the CSV files are in the wrong format for the converter.

Hope this makes sense.... if not just shout.

Simon, The N97 is on the compatability list (here) so I believe it has been tested by Sygic themselves (or some testers they approve). They wont approve your TT POI though.

One other thing to make sure you check when you have converted your POI is to make sure the icon bmp file is in 8bit (256 colour) format. Most graphics applications save in 24bit by default and this will cause Mobile Maps to crash.

Scarey. Thanks for tips. Sound like a long (initial) process for my own POI to be converted. So how do I get the "older" UPI convert program?
