For me, the screen dimming problems on both copilot and sygic are solved by disabling screen lock from the general settings option of the iphone. Tested heavily in the heavy traffic of the M5 today
I also get 4 yellow and 1 green blobs for signal.

Not had the dimming problem or the corrupt graphics as yet.
Just to make sure....as it stands on a non jail broken iphone we cannot add either the PGPSW speed cameras or POI databases?
Is this likely to change in the future?
cheers

Hi,
Been using this for a couple of days and very pleased with it.
I have a JB iPhone and want to SSH the PGPS cams to the phone.
When I download the CSV file from here, which one do I download? Is it the Single file, Consolidated by type or Speed zoned complete?
Thanks for any help.

How are you all finding the routing on CP iPhone?
I think this is so far the best of all the nav apps for look, UI and operation BUT the routing and journey time calculations are at times bizarre.
Travelling up to Nth Wales Friday CP wanted me to use the A5 via Llangollen rather than the the Wrexham-by-pass and A55 coast road.
Routing via Llangollen would be madness and add an hour to the journey. Ignoring it's suggestion I took the A55 and CP was reporting a journey time remaining of 1hr 10mins when I had 32 miles to go, 30 of which are the A55, a dual-carriageway with a 70 limit.
I love the app but if these routing oddities are the norm then I couldn't live with or rely upon it. None of the others (Sygic/iGO/Navigon) have exhibited any drastically odd routing as yet. _________________ Darren Griffin |

HI Darren
Did you create your own routing profile? The default ones seem to be set at quite low speeds. _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot |

Steve,
I tried CoPilot in demo mode and sure enough, the arrows are there, even on an 'A' road. But i have not seen these same arrows as yet even when in landscape mode on the motorway.
so for me, i have lane assist in demo mode but not 'live'.
Could it be there is no info for lane assist on the M5, a bit strange if there isn't.
Any help would be appreciated

I've been using CoPilot now for a few days. One thing I notice which is really frustrating is that it occasionally loses the signal and goes back to determining position.
The other problem is it doesn't seem to intelligently lock onto a planned route. For example, I was going down the M6 and when passing an area that had an adjacent side road (country road), my position jumped to this side road then had to recalculate to get me back onto the M6. Am I asking a bit much that the app should realise I haven't just jumped 100 yards sideways. Even if the signal drifts, I would have thought if there was no way for me to physically leave the road I was on, that it should keep me on the original road.
I also find that at points where I stop, like junctions, that the app takes a while to identify I'm moving again, and when it does it gets all confused as to where I am. I couldn't use this on an area with a lot of quick turns.
Could it be that the issue is the iPhone GPS signal?
Any help would be appreciated on these points. I'm a newbie on this site by the way. |

I have also noticed that it recalculates the route fairly often even when I am simply following the route along a motorway. _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot |

The re-cal is common with CoPilot, when I had CP live 7 installed on Win 6.1 based PDA it would re-cal for no reason. |

@Lplatebuggier:
I installed the consolidated by type database to my CoPilot installation and its working fine, the application didn't seem to like intialising after this install and I think a better way is to install each camera file one at a time launching the application between each file.
I will try and get some instuctions posted on the site later, but in reality its going to be tomorrow before I have it all scripted - Mike |
