Does anyone know (for definite) if this unit works with Mapsource roads and rec Europe software.
I have received conflicting info re this and wondered if anyone has actually tried it. |

I don't think roads and rec is routable and the maps also pretty old.
Check Garmin's website (or mail their support), they list the recommended mapping products for each GPS so this will give you the definite answer. |

Roads and Rec is old, and has been discontinued, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. It isn't listed as compatible with the GPS V but I know that it works with that unit and since the V and the 60 use the same maps, it stands to reason that R&R will work on both. _________________ Tim |

F=Thanks Skippy and TB.
I have worked out that it is probably best to use the City Select Europe (unless anyone can advise to the contrary).
The only problem is i can only find it sold as a car package, i just want the program as will only use on foot or on my motorbike which already has mounts etc.
I do have a HP2210 with MM 2004 but also want to be able to use my GPS separately so need Garmin software.
Its all slightly confusing and annoying. |

What is it exactly that you want to buy? A GPS 60, maps for same or both? _________________ Tim |

Oops sorry i will make it clearer.
I have a GarminGPSMAP 60C and M/cycle mount with only the basemap.
I also have a HP 2210 with MM 2004.
I would like to install map(s) onto my 60C so that it can be used in isolation to my PDA.
I am trying to work out which Garmin mapset (as only these can be installed to 60C) is best to use.
I really do not want all the extras that come with a car kit (such as the city select package supplied by the likes of GPSW and others) i just want the software. |
