When I switched on my 765T this morning I was surprised to see a page that read: Map UpDate Notice. The following map is now more than a year old and should be updated: CN Europe NT 2010.10 To purchase updated maps go to http://www.garmin.com/mapupdate. What galls me is that the unit was brand new a few weeks ago, and I updated it with (according to Garmin) the latest maps. Even the map number suggests that the map is not 'more than a year old'. This makes me wonder what game Garmin is playing. Has anyone else seen this message displayed inappropriately? _________________ Dabri.

Contact them to ask for a free map update.
They should give you one if you can prove you purchased it recently.

2010.10 maps are not a year old, they are only about three months old.
Garmin now issue updates around 4 times a year, so the next update should be out very soon.
I expect your unit was shipped with 2009 maps and you have downloaded your 1 free update.
So if you want to get the latest quarterly update when it comes out soon, you will need to pay for it.
However, if you do want it, you'd be better off paying for Lifetime updates, as it works out a lot cheaper in the medium term. |

I'm still on 2009 maps, as I'm hoping the next update will come out before my 60 days runs out, but it's getting close to my 60 days |

The 2010.10 Europe update came out in April 2009 and they haven't released an update since
I bought a lifetime update expecting the "regular" updates that Garmin promised - hopefully there will be one soon...... |

2010.20 North America came out yesterday, 31/07/09, so hopefully the EU one will be out any day now. |

Anyone any news of the 2010.20 Europe map updates?
Based on January and April releases, it was due around 21st July - but nothing
On a few of the European forums, I read several posts that say that this map update may not happen for Europe as they only promise "up to 4" map updates per year
Anyone have factual info on this latest map release? _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600
