TomTom Home is only supplied in Windows and Mac formats, you cannot get a Linux version. If you plug the desk top charger lead in to the Acer though it should charge the TomTom and if there is an application for viewing files on an external drive/ USB pen drive etc then it should see the contents of the device - You won't be able to purchase maps with it though - Mike |

Can I ask where you got it? I thought they had pretty much disappeared off the market as they prepared for the new model.
marshall wrote: | can i get tomtom home in Linux? | No. I'm going to try VirtualBox to run a virtual XP machine for Home. IF I get it working, I'll try to post details.

Hi JockTamsonsBairn, Just for the info, Xpansis at Amazon.co.uk had 120Gb HDD, 1Gb Ram versions running Linpus Linux last week for 150GBP, there were plenty in stock at the time so should still have some.
Bought mine and I cant put it down. Linpus is a bit basic but perfect as a netbook o/s. dual booting mine with Ubuntu Netbook Remix giving the best options for speed and "proper" computing!

Avoid tom tom Software if you can. | Xpansys or Amazon? _________________ Jock

In my opinion, neither. I have always found Amazon to be excellent and my one encounter with Xpansis was trouble free.
If marstaylor has replied to the correct forum, perhaps he means TomTom, as the Acer is also performing well. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
