|
|
There seems to be a number of questions floating about regarding the Sygic Mobile Maps app many of which can only be answered by Sygic themselves. If you have a question for Sygic about any feature of the app please post it here.
The sort of things we are looking for are:
Will they allow custom POIs?
Will/How will they update Speed cams?
etc.
I will be getting in touch with Sygic early next week and maybe I can get some answers from them. _________________ Mike Barrett |

A few suggestions:
Integration with iPhone Contacts.
The startup screen warning - can we tick it once and then not see it again please?
Larger font sizes for text please.
Smooth tones effect on the 3D Map background.
Option for compass heading display.
Show current speed limit. Apparently this is only shown if the data is available - so more data please. I checked in simulation mode - even in totally built up Edinburgh, the data for road speed limits is missing from most of the roads.
Preferences to set country so that when choosing an address or postcode you do not have to set country there.
Integration with PGPSW POIs.
A choice of different voices, Simon is getting on my nerves, let's have a female voice as well.
Some better warning sounds - most of them are useless, like telephone rings. About the only ones of any use are the ding and ding2 warning sounds.

Use of phone numbers available directly for use by the phone, a lot of POI have phone numbers embedded so not being able to use this from an app running on a phone seems strange - Mike |

For those that have already purchased the Europe version it would be nice to be able to download the smaller UK only version to save iPhone space. |

Nope...but they are responding to requests for more limited maps and just waiting on Apple now from what I have heard. |

So the euro version has 41 countries for £59.99 so UK only should be about £1.46

How about more voices and more importantly the ability to silence all the time (rather than pressing disable sounds everytime you load), i like to monitor progress on routes I already know. Also the ability to reduce voice tones independent of the main sounds as Simon keeps shouting when I listen to podcasts.
Main thing I would pay more for is traffic integration, where does google maps get it from, that is pretty accurate and does not highlight night closures etc in the day traffic UK. _________________ TT Go 520

Dear Sygic,
How old were you when you first recognised you had an interested in GPS and did you take any specialist subjects at school to help you with your chosen career?
Is that the kind of thing? I've loads more where they came from, believe me!

Do you have any plans to produce a GPS assisted mount like TomTom have previewed?
Add my vote to wanting PGPS camera database. _________________ iPhone 6 - TomTom WE- CamerAlert - Brodit Passive Adjustable mount.

I don’t have an Apple iPhone so I don’t know if the Sygic Mobile Maps app already has the following functions or capabilities, so please trim the unnecessary ones:
1. Full use of the PocketGPSWorld camera database, including directional information.
2. Ability to optimise to journey if there are several pickup or drop-off points.
3. Avoid POIs and have user adjustable avoidance radius from POI. Imagine being able to plan a route avoiding certain roads with height, weight, or other limitations.
