You could install it but whether it will reliably work or not is a different matter, Navcore 8 has never been released for the Gox00 range so whilst it might work it might not be stable, it could at worst brick the device - Mike |

I'm not entirely familiar with the term 'Brick it' but I guess you mean it will damage it some way.
I'm wondering which part of it might be damaged, the hardware, the firmware, or the SD card ?
If it's only the latter two, both can be recreated or replaced.
Mind you, I have yet to obtain a copy of navcore 8, it seems only to be available from dubious sites and I hesitate to use those. |

Turning the device in to a "brick" makes it useful as a door stop or costly paper weight but it won't be much use as a Navigation device. If putting the Navcore 8 on your device increases the Bootloader version this is not reversible and could prevent future downloads of software.
There are plenty of links to various version 8 Navcore releases within the forum, these links go straight to the server at TomTom, the following are intended for the Go-x30, there are different version 8 downloads for the x20, x40 or some of the newer XL devices
The instructions about how to install this can be found in This Thread
For Go x30 devices click
8,010
8,302
8,320
8,350
8,351

Mike,
Do you know that the link you provide to the 8350 firmware points to the 8320 firmware? This is the second time I noticed it - so I assume it's a cut and paste error somewhere.
cheers
