I have just got a TomTom One.
The safety camera alert just sounds like a car horn. How can I change it please.
I can change the alert for any other POI, but can't figure this one out. Nothing about safety cameras in the manual. |

You mess about with TT camera warnings in the TomTom Services menu, not the POI menu.
If you subscribe and get the PGPSW cameras you get a lot more options (and, of course, an accurate camera database, which TomTom's isn't). _________________ Dennis

Thanks Dennis
I thought that menu was just subscribed services, as I don't subscribe to anything I didn't look there.
Reading other posts, it seems that I should only see the camera database if I subscribe to it. I fear that it may just be a "trial" subscription, though there is nothing in the packaging, the manual, the device or TTHome to suggest that I have only temporary access. I won't be best pleased if it disappears suddenly.
It is a TT One Series 30. It was a present and had no cellophane wrapping, so it may have had a sticker or something originally. I think it may have been bought from Halfords, but I don't know what promotions they had a month ago. |

It's not a trial subscription. All TT devices come complete with their speed camera database. Correction - All TT devices come complete with their rubbish camera database. Subscription gets you updates (for what they're worth, which is not worth paying for!). You only see the cameras when you drive past them. It was factory loaded, so at best it is x months old and even the x months old one was never comprehensive. (I got a new TT ONE last year, free with my new van, so I compared the cameras with ours. Of the seventeen between here and London at the time, they had four right). I have a friend who still has his original TT device he bought 2 or 3 years ago, still with the original TomTom camera database. I weep for him!
The forum FAQs tell you how to get rid of them if you so choose and of course, I highly recommend the speed cameras from here - subscription is £20 a year for the members only area of the forum, including the camera database which is updated weekly. _________________ Dennis

PS Have you done a backup? A Windows Explorer backup, NOT TomTom Home. If not, do one now before you even reply to this! _________________ Dennis
