HELP! I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 and I am trying to update the camera database using a vista PC.
I have downloaded the database but the files appeared directly in the selected folder as CSV files rather than zip files as mentioned in the instructions. I presume that they have been automatically unzipped somehow by vista.
When using the Garmin POI loader to try to get the data to the Nuvi I get the message, "the selected directory does not contain any CSV files". It certainly does - I can see them! What on earth do I do next?
By the way, is there any difference between a 'directory' and a 'folder'? |

No difference between a directory and a folder.
For all Garmin devices, you should consider using Ash's camera manager. Takes all the pain out of downloading and unzipping the files. Then, you just use POILoader to get them into your Nuvi.

Whilst Vista does allow you to see th contents of a ZIP file like a folder you can't get POILoader to see them like that. You must right click and Extract the files to a folder before using POILoader. |

Well, don't I feel foolish. You are absolutely right - I can see the files, the extension etc but they are not actually available for the Nuvi. I followed your advice and everything works fine. Thanks for your help. |

Can I ask why you are using two user-accounts? We do ask that users do not create multiple accounts. _________________ Darren Griffin |
