Nope you are not alone:
This is worse than being a kid in a sweet shop with no money - how much longer are they going to mess around with this:
So a UK based user can purchase the app with maps for North America, Asia and Australia but not for Europe where we live - Bloody stupid - Mike |

I'm only seeing North America, Australia & New Zealand, and South-east Asia. Perhaps they pulled Europe? |

personally (ie NOT any official statement form PGPSW) i think apple are in cahoots with tomtom and they realise that sygic is actually very good and a serious competitor for tomtom - hnce they stifle it in europe where tomtom has the larger market share...

MaFt, TBH I'm not really seeing that. I'm guessing that their reputation is worth way more to Apple than any relationship with TomTom. Cock up seems the likely explanation IMO. |

I'd have to agree that this is more cock-up than conspiracy. Any potential profit from the commission here is minute in comparison with Apple's other profits.
Regardless though, it's been 10 days now, how long does it take to fix Apple? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Daily check - nope.. still not there...
So is this a race between Sygic and tomtom?? - i wonder who will be first with the goods (tho tomtom looks like the complete package rather than just the s/w).....

An email from Sygic;
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL, MASS COMMUNICATION (more details on http://www.sygic.com/press/europe-disabled.html)
Unfortunately, the "8003 error" problem is not on our side and we cannot make any changes on iTunes Store side as that is Apple part of solution.
GOOD NEWS: What we have searched in the previous similar problems of 8003 on Google, it seems once Apple fix it it will stay in your download, so your payment was not lost.
Also we have already come up with a solution to this problem by reposting the software once again so there will be a chance for iTunes Store to process it again, now without any errors hopefully.
Until the reviewing process finnishes, we would like to kindly ask all Mobile Maps 2009 Europe customers to hold on. Unfortunatelly, we cannot estimate when the application will be approved. It has already been announced (Google) that Apple confirmed that they will try to do their best in sanitation of download error and avoiding further unsatisfaction of navigation users.
NOTE: Sygic cannot directly refund any of Mobile Maps 2009 Europe customers as we do not directly sell the product. Please seek assistance or ask further questions directly by contacting Apple iTunes Store.
Next email will inform you about Mobile Maps 2009 Europe product availability and readiness to download again from your iTunes Store.
Thank you for understanding and attention! _________________ TT Go 520

Email I received today from Sygic - explains why not available in the UK:-
EMAIL REGARDING AVAILABLITY OF EUROPE VERSION MOBILE MAPS 2009 iPhone
Please let us provide you with a status update regarding the iTunes download error 8003.
How it went:
The application v 7.71 got approved on 25th June. Soon after our customers started complaining about the error. In order to protect additional customers from the same error, we removed the application from the store on the next day. We raised the issue with Apple immediately.
When we removed the application from the store, it disappeared from the content management system which is used to manage applications by the application publishers. That contradicted the Apple manual for using the content management system. Again, we raised the issue with Apple immediately.
We thought the application size might be causing the iTunes download error, so we created and submitted application version v7.71.1 which has a smaller regional map coverage.
Apple responded to our query about the iTunes download error in few days saying it is not possible for them the investigate the issue because we removed the application from the store. It was indeed not possible for us to put the application back to store, because it was already gone from the content management system. We repeatedly explained it to Apple.
New application version 7.71.1 got approved few days later. We tested the download and found out it was not functional still. We learned previously that in order to have Apple investigating the issue we had to keep the application in the store. In order to protect new customers we limited to availability of the application to Luxembourg only and put a warning message to the application saying customers shall not purchase it because the download was not functional. We asked Apple to investigate the iTunes download issue.
On 6th July we submitted for review new Europe application version v7.71.2 in a new slot in the hope that it might solve the issue. We will closely monitor the new application once it gets approved.
Unfortunately it is not possible for us to enable a free download of the updated v7.71.2 application to existing customers. Unfortunately we can’t estimate when and if Apple will come with a solution to the iTunes download error which would enable a free download of the application for affected customers. The only help we can provide to our customers at the moment is to advise to ask Apple for refund. Sygic can’t provide the refund because it is Apple who charges the customer. Approximately a third of the affected customers got the refund from Apple already. As per the feedback from our customers, the refund information was sent to them from the email address iTunesStoreSupport@apple.com after they reported the download error following the steps as described on our website at http://www.sygic.com/press/europe-disabled.html .
We hope Apple will find a solution of their iTunes issue soon. If you are not willing to wait for Apple to fix the issue, please ask them for refund.
We will keep you posted on any updates we will receive from Apple. _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot |
