I waited for the 3.0 software in the hope that the Apple update would mean that I could finally use my traffic subscription, but it would seem that their Bluetooth update was only to support the wireless headphone profile. Does anybody know of a work around otherwise I will have to dig out an old Nokia N73. |

Welcome to the forum, they only added the A2DP Bluetooth protocol this time so it won't work for data when connected to the TomTom that needs DUN Profile, it cannot be added so I guess you will have to go digging - Mike |

Considering the iPhone is one of the most advanced phones to date, Apple have really shocked me with the amount of features that are missing. V3 gave some of the missing bits but it could still be sooooooo much better. |

This is more to do with the networks not allowing tethered data than anything else.
As tethering for data access by external devices is only permitted with the bolt-on pack it's not surprising that Apple chose to limit this feature.
I have tethering enabled so will test over the weekend and see if that allows access but I doubt it _________________ Darren Griffin |

it won't.
tomtom requires the DUN bluetooth profile (DUN = dial up networking i think?) but the bluetooth tethering provided on iphone 3.0 is PAN (personal area network). in terms of using the phone as a modem for laptop etc the effect is the same, but tomtom will ONLY work via the DUN
