Bought mine from Halfords the weekend / 2 days before the problem happened, mine gave error message aquiring satellites on the mon worked for 60 miles message again then i switched it off at my destination, on return it played up a bit, following day booted up aquiring satellites planning route then back to aquiring, then Black screen and no power up.
Contacted garmin they were slow in coming back to me, so i checked AV forums again for info, and contacted garmin too, they said as it would not power up it need to be exchanged, which Halfords did with no hesitation, garmin said dont register it until I have done the latest software/firmware updates, and follow any prompts, it works great and they transferred my lifetime map subs and camera sub to the new unit, very happy with the service so far.
How do you correct route errors in my town it wants to route me up a side rd, when the main rd is clearly visible?

Sent mine back to Garmin week last Friday, returned to me last Wednesday, done a 600 mile trip with it this weekend and all is fine (apart from the useless traffic reports which I have learned to live with ? )
Incidentally, my original unit was returned to me , not a replacement unit as has been suggested by some users. I suppose we should congratulate Garmin for a prompt turn around in view of the fact that they will probably have thousands returned to them. Just a pity that they allowed the fault to present itself in the first place !
Like many others my 765 crashed and would not power up at all. Helpful advice from Garmin site to send it back but I want to use it!
So took plunge - removed screws (these are TORX No5 but a 1.25mm allen key did the job) and carefully opened up as per Sticky's procedure - disconnected battery for minute or so - reconnected battery - closed case.
IMMEDIATELY - before switching on unit - connected to PC via USB.
Unit then powered up and then I ran Garmin updater which updated to version 3.6 (takes a little while)
Now all working again but opening up could invalidate guarantee - if they know!
