New map on old 910

Hi,

I have a 910 which I think is running the latest 7.x software (can't check for sure, as I'm at work).

As TomTom have 25% off, I thought I'd get the latest UK maps for it.

Is there anything I need to be aware of. Will the 8.30 map work ok on a 910 with 7.x software, or will I be able to update the software to v8 when I put the 8.30 map on it?

The latest software for the 910 is 7.903. The latest W & C Europe Map is V830.2307

There is no V8 software for the x10 series .... yet.

I thought the v7.9 update allowed the latest map to be used with older devices that cannot run v8 navcore?

That's what I really wanted to know - will a v8.3x map work ok on v7.903 software.

The tomtom site allows me to select the v8.3 map so I'm hoping that it will.

Would just love to get some confirmation first though.
