To transfer the POIs just copy the OV2 and BMP file from one units map folder to the other.
As for tranferring Favourites i'm not sure. |

TT HOME can do a lot of things, but one it can't do is save your Favourites
You may have to have them side by side and use the browse map to each favourite and do it that way, re-enter each one |

To transfer favourites between devices, it's best to convert them to a POI set. Favourites are really more of a shortcut than the "real" thing.
- Create a POI category called (eg MyFavs).
- Go to "Browse map" and "find" the first favourite. Tap the crosshair-like button and save it as a POI in the MyFavs category.
- You also have the option of adding a phone number (in international format) if you wish.
- Do the above for each favourite you wish to transfer. The MyFavs.ov2 and .bmp can then be sent to whomever. _________________ Gerry

The ONE v2 may be able to do that, but if the ONE v5 is the same as the ONE v4 then without using the old SDK menus (which I do on my v4), you cannot add more to the POI's as the Manage POI's menu is missing. |

If that's the case, it's not the end of the world...
Just import the old machine's "MapSettings.cfg" file into POIEdit (www.poiedit.com) Strip out the items you don't want (it will be showing your recent destinations, Home location etc. as well as the Favourites) and then save the results as a new .ov2 file, which you just copy back into the map folder on the new 'One'.
(Will need to sort out a suitable 22x22 icon for it too...) |

Just out of interest, can you add to a POI set via the browse map function even though the menu itself is missing? I'm guessing you may be able to add but not edit/delete.
Sounds like POIEdit is almost a necessity for the later ONEs.
I went from an original One XL to a 730 so haven't played with the later ONEs. _________________ Gerry

No, you cannot even add to an existing poi with the default menus or via the browse map. The only thing you can add is a favourite via the browse map.
Have a look down the page on my web site page HERE
It shows the default menus, then the menus I use via the SDK. I have added the Manage POIs for instance |
