I've just noticed that the speech input facility has disappeared from the address menu. I don't know how long it's been missing since I rarely use it but was going to demonstrate it to my partner after telling her about it. |

Do you have a bunch of csspeechxx.dat files in your specific map folder where 'xx' represents a country code?
Do you have the updated application?
Do you have a text file called support_asr.dat with just a 1 in it, nothing else in the asr folder? _________________ David |

Also what country are you attempting to navigate to? My Voice Recognition disappeared the other week. Turned out that it was because i was trying to navigate to a town in France. |

|
|
Hi dhn, The cspeech files are there but the support file in the ASR folder is missing.
I do regular updates & I am running on the latest version. The speech input isn't hugely important to me but if it should be there then I want it to be there if that makes sense.
Thanks for your help. |

Then create the support_asr.dat file yourself. Use Notepad. Put just a 1 in it, nothing else, no spaces, blanks or anything. Place this file in the asr folder.
Make sure you do indeed save it as support_asr.dat, not support_asr.dat.txt. When in Notepad after you've created a name for the file, the second row of the 'save as' dialogue box defaults to .txt. Do NOT accept that. Instead, select 'all files'. _________________ David |

At a guess you have formatted the device at some point (or installed Navcore on a SD Card) and installed just 8.350 or 8.351.
This has come up a few times - you are probably missing your ephem folder and can't use QuickGPS Fix as well. |
