A friend has asked me to take a look at her P350 which has stopped working. When you switch it on the splash screen displays and that's it. It goes no further despite trying to soft and hard reset. Is anyone familiar with this model and this fault? _________________ TomTom and Sygic app on my iPhone. Toyota CHR |

To do a hard reset on the P350 you need to get to Start/Settings/System/SysInfo/Clean Boot, the fact you can't get past the splash screen leaves only one way I can think of.
Switch off using the small slider at the bottom of the unit.
Put it face down and remove the little rubber grommet at the top of the battery compartment cover and remove the screw.
Gentle pull out the battery connector and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. It's a bit fiddly re-connecting so you may have to remove the battery, easier said than done as it's stuck down with what I think is/was double sided sticky tape, and I mean sticky.
If you gently prise away one side slightly then move on to the other side, going back and fourth, lots of times, it will eventually come free. Don't exert excessive pressure or you may break it.
Once it's been disconnected re-insatll in reverse order. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Thanks Lost. Managed to remove battery as instructed but unfortunately it still stalls on the splash screen. _________________ TomTom and Sygic app on my iPhone. Toyota CHR |

Damn, it usually fixes most problems, maybe a file has become corrupted.
How long did you wait with the 'splash' screen showing? After a 'clean boot' or battery removal mine takes some time to get past that point, not more than a couple of minutes though.
Did you have the SD Card in the device and is there a programme on it that may intefere with the initial boot?
Can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll get my thinking cap on.
Try this
Hard reset, but not the way in the manual.
Switch On/Off switch off, push Joystick up and hold whilst switching back on, when it makes a sound, the joystick can be released. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Just checked the Mio site and find there's a power patch, it shows it for the P550 but should work for the P350.
How do I install the power patch for the P550?
Switching on a P550 after an empty battery is very difficult. There is a patch available to help solve this problem.
For P550 the patch is available for devices with operating languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
How to install the patch?
Go to the support pages on our Mio Technology website and select your device. Select the downloads tab.
Select the download of the language your operating system is inUnzip the file to the root (this means top level) of an empty SD cardInsert the SD card in your PDAVia start/programs/file explorer go to the folder of the SD card Double click on MioUpdatePackages.exe Follow the instructions on the screen.

From what i remember their was a procedure for doing a factory reset on the mio168 by pressing a button(s) when doing a reset so dd a quick search and found found this for a response to the p350 first screen freezing:
Quote: | You will have to do a "Factory Reset".
***You Will Lost All Your Data***
While you reset the device by pressing the little button on the bottom with the stylus,
Hold "UP" on the direction pad.
Keep holding for about 30 seconds.
You should then be prompted to do restore it to factory settings.

a google search will find quite a few answers to p350 problems _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Maybe I should have added this as a new post rather than editing.

Glad it's back to normal. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
