|
|
Source:AppShopper.
Sygic have launched their iPhone Navigation Application, Mobile Maps in Australia and New Zealand.
The Europe (44 countries) and North America versions have been submitted to Apple and are awaiting approval.
Using the TeleAtlas map data there are no subscription fees or other hidden charges and all map data is stored on your device.
Priced at $64.00 for the combined Oz/NZ map package this is the first on-board non subscription application to hit the appstore. We're now all eagerly awaiting the completion of Apple's approval process so we can sample it here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Poo - I've just bought TomTom NZ mapping for our trip later this year. Could have used this to justify getting an iPhone 3GS instead... ;) _________________ LG G4: Android 6 : Viewranger : CoPilot : Waze

Is anything known about Sygic, or are they a complete unknown? |

They have been around for a while, have a read of This although bear in mind the review isn't the iPhone application although I would expect it to be similar - Mike |

Ive just tested sygic in the car. Custom pois work perfectly. Routing is decent, dont realy see any problems with this software apart from one MASSIVE issue. Set my ipod going. As soon as a voice prompt occurs in sygic it pauses your music and doesnt turn it back on.... So wont be buying sygic until this issue is resolved. Bring on tomtom.
Can now see why tomtom release is delayed. Whereas other manufacturers have beat them to the apple store tomtom are obviously unwilling to destroy there brand by releasing something which lacks features.
If you dont want to use your ipod then sygic is a decent option, if you do then stay clear. |

the 'music not starting after pausing' issue is an iphone sdk issue NOT and app issue. feel free to google various developer forums for confirmation... apple do NOT allow starting up again of the ipod app once paused.

Presumably that's why Navigon talks over the music instead? Seems like a few people using the Aus version are having issues with turn instructions coming rather late while they are already turning?
When it finally materialises in the AppStore for Europe, will be interesting to see the reviews! So far I'm happy with the choice I made going Navigon. |
