If you're a fan of The Simpsons then news that TomTom have secured the original voice of Homer Simpson, Dan Castellaneta, as a navigation voice for TomTom will be well received.
With the humour characteristic of Homer, the voice will guide you to your location, be that the the Kwik-E Mart of the Doughnut Shop.
Fox Executive Vice President Licensing and Merchandising aid, “We have joined forces with TomTom to help celebrate THE SIMPSONS historic 20th anniversary and will help provide a little levity for those long summer road trips ahead.”
The voice file is packed with humour, e.g. "Take the third right. We might find an ice cream truck! Mmm…ice cream.”
Available for Euro 9.95, download is via TomTom HOME.
Click here for a sample and to proceed to purchase if you still think it won't get real annoying real fast Doh! _________________ Darren Griffin

Is it possible to use this with Navigator 6 on symbian/s60?
Clicking through, it doesn't seem to want to let me buy it without having the "new" tomtom home installed, and IIRC that version of home doesn't work with the old mobile naviator...
I tried sneakily copying the .bmp/.chk/etc for the voice from my brother's standalone GO unit (he managed to successfully purchase the voice, eventually, after receiving only an error message when they took his money intially..). Anyway, all it did on my phone was freeze when selecting the voice.
Are they not backwards compatible these days? |

No idea but they are locked to the device they were bought for and cannot be copied/shared. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Especially if I was your passenger! I'd sooner have the 'Crazy Frog'. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
