You'll notice that Home isn't too popular, but I thought that it only deleted the map when it was about to download a replacement (YES, you're right it should download the replacement, verify the download and THEN delete the old one, but that's TT for you!). If you were updating a map using LMG and the download was interrupted, can you not resume the download? You may have to clean out the partial download. _________________ Jock

If it was the original map for the device and you don't have a backup then you might have a problem.
If it is one you downloaded through HOME then you should be able to retrieve it and reinstall.
If it is an additional map you purchased on SD card you might be a bit stuck too.
Let us know which type it is and are you sure you have never taken a backup, either with Windows Explorer or HOME?
Have you ever used the copy items to my computer in HOME and backed up just the map that way?
Try connecting to HOME and updating again after MOVING (not deleting) your My Documents\TomTom\HOME\downloads\complete\maps folder. Do this whilst HOME is completely closed (no icon in the task bar) |

What about file undeleting software? Anyone an expert in this, I'm not? Just a thought! That is if Home has not overwritten map. |

Usually if Home gets as far as deleting a map is has downloaded the new map and is trying to install it. If you cannot use a normal method to install a manual install may work.
It will have downloaded the new map to your TomTom home folder on your PC similar to ...\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\map\MAP_NAME\
In this folder you should find 5 files, you need to extract contents of the large map zip file and the contents of the activation****.cab file to your map folder on the SD card. If you can do this is should recover to your upgraded map. _________________ Drivelux |
