and my latest unconfirmed random theory is that using mapshare contributes to the stuttering etc.
It must do, as it has to process the original map file plus the amendments whilst navigating. Seeing as the TTs seem barely able to keep up with drawing the screen in real time nowadays it surely can't help having all the corrections to process as well. |

after all this excitement -- I am sorry to report that the 740L is playing up again .. GRRRR
not quite as bad as previously - but starting the way it started before.
When I now switch on -- it just "sits" on the opening screen.. and may flashe brighter or goes dimer a couple of times - but just sits..
So I press the button and it goes off but then comes on again and has the yellow line go across the bottom and then what seems ages - it comes on to the map screen. It can be any where in the UK..
You put in a route and it just sits -- and then switches off -- and we have to start over..
By this time we could have been there..
Trying to Contact Amazon -- with no luck - came from a firm called - Digital Age they have sent me an e-mail and told me to send it back and they will send a new one -- but don't have a mailing address for them..
what a performance -- who is responsible !! _________________ Happy to meet -- Sorry to part -- Happy to meet again |

I had my first problems on a trip from Leeds to Edinburgh the other day. 3 times on the journey I realised the screen had frozen. A tap to the menu and "Done" and it was working again but in that time I would have had no Speed Camera Alerts. Is this a known issue?? |

@ Fibre: Are you sure that your battery is well charged? I thought I had recurrence of boot looping earlier this week after recovery from same (which was definitely real the first time). Turns out the battery was below half-charge, and with the new-improved-screw-the-fact-that-it-worked-better-before change to how it responds to low battery, it now shuts down so fast that it can't possible display its warning, heck it hasn't even started waking up. This is idiotic design for a new product, even dafter for 1 that was working rationally before. But that's today's TT! _________________ Go Premium X / Go 1005 |

Boot looping -- that is a good term.. and describes it
The battery is fully charged -- with the green light on the button.
and plugged in to the car when travelling.
I am fed up with the thing and keep my Classic in the glove compartment..
We got this for our holidays in France this year -- as a treat -- but I think we had better to take the Classic -- to be on the safe side..
Still Trying to Contact Amazon -- with no luck - it came from a firm called - Digital Age an Amazon supplier
there seems NO way you can contact these firms..
any one heard of them?? _________________ Happy to meet -- Sorry to part -- Happy to meet again |
