Still no change on the website, just says coming soon and the German forum users seem to be loosing interest in posting updates. People are now busy in a thread discussing the actual 8310 someone has.
Seems the keyboard style has been changed to the same as the 7310 screenshots seems the range will now have a consistantancy across the range.
Someone has also 'hacked' the keyboard screen to show as QWERTY.
As the 8310 is shipping, the issue must be in the update process. I know the webpage says you can use the 2Gb card if you delete country maps not used and I wonder if that's the issue, but I'm just guessing.
Suppose the delay is better than releasing software which could break the units during the update.
As for PoiWarner, it sounds like the software functions with the new software (after re-install) but it may need to be re-activated so you may have to contact Navigating.de for a new code. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

Hi All,
Been a while. I still have my 8110, it was unloved until POI-Warner came along.
I too am interested in this upgrade but am unsure of this MyRoutes feature and whether it is a useful addition or a gimmick. Are there any thoughts on this from you guys?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to say until we actually get the software but the idea of the GPS 'learning' your driving style and plotting routes more suitable to the way you drive seems interesting. The feature also takes into account the day and time of travel to help plot. If anything the 'myRoutes' should give a more accurate arrival time. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

This reply from Navigon makes me doubt that it will be released this week
"thank you for contacting the Navigon support team.
Unfortunately the upgrade still has a few bugs in it which will ned to be fixed first. Once the update will be released again it will be announced on our homepage.
If you have further questions in the meantime, do not hesitate to contact us again."
Really hoped that it would be available for my trip to Reading next week, as that would have been a great time to test. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

Well at least it's now possible to access the manuals again. For a while Navigon had the links accidently pointed at the 7310 manuals.
Well I hope the rumour on the german forum isn't true that Navigon won't release the upgrade until a certain number of the 8310 units have actually shipped. Let's hope that's just a rumour! Or Navigon will yet again sucessfully upset all the 8110 customers who seem to get a raw deal compared to 7210 and lower models. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

I've just had a reply from Navigon that the 8110 upgrade should be available within the next two weeks, probaly just in time for me to have already left for France.
Following my query about the £/€ pricing, they also seem to have reduced the UK price from £69.99 to a staggering £69.95 - who says the Germans have no sense of humour? But the support team have also just said they will have another word with their marketing people. _________________ David

I was in Wales last weekend and found out that the navigon 8110 cannot say Welsh Name places. I bet they don't have that problem in Europe. _________________ Death Is Easy. Except For Moment Or Two Of Pain, Death Has No Terrors for Those Willing To Face Life......... |

It's so close.... Navigon Fresh now lists the update. However it just links to the store but the store hasn't been updated.
Q2 2009 maps are out though and at 2gb in size it's worth downloading the maps now in anticipation of the update. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

Don't buy too soon. Just had a personalized code for £20 off the upgrade price.
I would imagine everyone will be getting one.
I suspected it would be released soon as it seems people who only just brought a 8110 were able to download last night for free.
We just had to wait for the shop to get updated. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

Thanks jonandmarkuk - in the nick of time ; I should have paid more attention to my (German) email from Navigon with its voucher for an offer of €49.95.
So I'll be there very shortly _________________ David
