This or this aren't possible are they? - I thought the 940 needed additional internal hardware to access live services? |

Looks like a rip-off to me. His feedback is good but too old to see what he sold in the past. I certainly wouldn't touch them. _________________ TT Go Essential |

All that these sellers have done is installed the Navcore intended for the 940 to the One XL or 910 depending which advert your look at - Probably running illegally activated maps as well, the problem with running the wrong software on these devices is one of stability, you might find they crash all the time.
As you mentioned the addition hardware the 940 contains you are quite right, it isn't possible for either of the two devices on e-bay to have Live services, this part of the software simply won't work.
To be honest both adverts are excellent examples of some of the poor and shoddy adverts that e-bay allow on their web site, this is one of the major downsides to e-bay - If you are unsure about an item for sale seek advice or move on to something else, sadly if something looks to good to be true its probably a sale of something illegal - Mike |

The person who's bidding on it is going to have a bad day then!
eBay is a good idea but there's always someone looking to make a quick buck by ripping someone else off it would seem. |

Exactly....
They say things like "with GO 940 LIVE SOFT" and let people ASSUME that means it has the Live services.
Let the buyer beware.... It reminds me of a story I heard where someone bid on eBay for a "Microsoft X Box Box". - It even had a nice picture of the empty packing case he eventually bought!
In this case even the heading should ring alarm bells. There's no such thing as a "TomTom GO XL ONE"!!! |

Is it worth someone with more knowledge than me reporting the seller to eBay? I believe it wants to protect its reputation and will ban disreputable sellers. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Looking closely on the pics of the second link, the software reported is v8.412.
This ISN'T even software for the Go940 - it's the software installed on the brand new XL Live, but he says it has 940 features like "voice activated control"!
Getting dodgier by the minute... |

I reported these two sales to TT earlier today, I guess they have a better chance of getting the sales taken down as its their software and maps that are being solde under dubious conditions - Mike |

But what would the difference be in someone buying one of those from ebay and finding half the stuff doesn't work than buying one from tomtom and finding half the stuff doesn't work as it is supposed to!!! Apart from not paying so much as you would have given to tomtom! |
