According to the following review......
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-go-930-review-a1042.php
It states....
There is a media slot for an SD card. This is used for additional mapping and for media such as music and pictures. You can use SD and/ or SDHC upto 4GB for maps and 32GB for music/pictures.
Also the device has its own internal 4GB memory...
Hope that helps |

What they say isn't technically incorrect, the largest supported SD card is 2GB but certain models of SDHC card also work. _________________ Darren Griffin |

With the latest Navcore software installed you can push the card size all the way to 32GB using the SDHC format cards, I use both 8GB and 16GB cards in my 930 with no problems at all.
The only reasons I don't have 32GB is availability, need and cost - these larger cards are rather expensive making two 16GB cards more atractive, and you can fit lots of music on a 16GB card let alone leaving space for a few maps - Mike |

Who knows - UPS collected it today to go back to Holland so probably a week or two.
If they fix it I will eat my metaphorical hat as you and I know it isn't specific to my unit, or my mobile phone etc.
They have 'guaranteed' to return a fully working unit!!
Will be interesting if/when the same faults reoccur in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, a bit off topic!

Y'know what I dream of? I dream that TT offer to sell me (for full price) a fully working 940 Live. My fingers itch and my mouth waters every time I think of it. It really is EXACTLY what I want and have always wanted. I can't think of anything I'd rather have (in the absence of winning the Lottery). _________________ Dennis

But why would they want to ever do that? Just like M$ in an equally saturated PC market to that of SatNavs, they can only maintain their revenue stream at its historical levels (on a their existing business model) by selling replacement units to existing customers. True you, I suspect, and I - definitely - are not going to buy another SatNav from TomTom when almost every part of it written by TomTom (as opposed to TeleAtlas) can be relied upon to not work as expected. But I can assure you many, many people will! For the same reason that many, many, many people buy new, replacement PC's when the only issue with their existing one is that M$ didn't bother/want to fix the OS to stop it becoming slower, larger and/or compromised over time. And the reason - in both cases - is they, the punters, are simply uninformed.
So TT will arrange things to remain as is, IMHO. I doubt that they ever instruct their developers to get things wrong in the first place (although they do indirectly effect this by the level of competence that they employ - e.g. coding Home Installer to use .NET instead of checking for its exitence: DUMB!). But given a fortuitous problem they clearly do influence what gets fixed, and thus by extension what doesn't.
I know that I could get our TT's fixed if I was hired to run their Development group with a free hand, and in short order. It's simply not that hard. But the key would not be getting the job, it would be getting the "free hand." _________________ Go Premium X / Go 1005 |
