This might be a really simple one to answer (I've googled and found nothing) but does anyone produce a motorbike mount for the TT GO720? |

Thanks Darren, the UK site does the mount but doesn't list a holder for the TomTom - I may have to give them a call |

Although their catalogue often lags behind the US they should be able to get the items. Failing that you could order from the US but it'll get expensive. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You'll want to stick it in a plastic bag too. The 720 is not shower proof.
Mine goes in a tank bag with sound routed via FM to headphones in the helmet. Does mean I can't upgrade to the latest application code as they've disabled directions over FM |

Had you missed that Instructions over FM is now BACK (so long as you have 'silent' mp3 file playing on the jukebox)? |

Talking of slinging t in a bag, I still wish Tom Tom would implement a mobile phone-style screen lock option to the software. I tried to use mine from my bag on my first few trips to the London office on my electric bike. At one point I had somehow re-routed to Yorkshire and was going completly the wrong direction.
I can understand there might be safety issue with it. i.e. if it was locked and you were trying to unlock it at speed or similar. However if it asked you if you were sure, then asked if you were really sure then if you were really really sure you wouldn't mind too much as you're about to sling it in a bag anyway. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

Hmm, the car devices aren't intended or designed for use such as you suggest so you could forgive them omitting such a feature? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Progress of technology? My old PDA in its ruggedised case with TTNav could do all that and through a bluetooth earpiece or a plug in earphone and is still used on my bike and similarly with Memory Map in boats and cross country. _________________ Drivelux |

Darren, I do agree that it isn't really a car related feature. And I wouldn't scream for it as such but I also occasionally use the device when walking. I did it some time ago navigating on foot back to accomodation in Stockholme in the early hours. Would have been good not to have it in my hand but in my pocket.
That said i'd sooner they fixed some of the stuff we already have instead. Based on current additional features it would probably lock but not unlock and support would tell us it would be fixed in the next release
And MrT has just given me a great idea to use my old TTN6 and my MDA Pro which are gathering dust on my shelf here. Cheers MrT! _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

Hi harley -noj, A quicky answer your question about powering a TT whilst riding a bike.
I recently bout two items from Amazon. The first was a Cigar adapter which I have wired to the bikes battery, I keep it under the seat when not in use and place it in my tank bag when in use, this allows me to connect up to 3 x 12v devices and one x 5v USB device. (A bit excessive while riding I know, but worth it when camping and needing to recharge stuff).
I also bought a rechargeable battery power pack with various outlet adapters including USB, this plugs straight into my TT and, with a full charge, extends it's battery life from 2 hours to 5 hours, so I don't even need my bike or tank bag for this.
Hope this helps, AliOnHols. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
